In 1978 Agents West was born out of the factory sales team at Alflex Corporation. Brian Harvey, the founder of Alflex offered the opportunity of a lifetime to four friends and co-workers. He generously gave Agents West its foundation and its first line to represent! Clyde Collins, Aldo Pellicciotti, Robert Rathburn and Steve Benshoof were four high school friends who, after college worked as colleagues and then became business partners.

It was an exciting time in the electrical industry and each partner brought with him experience in manufacturing and distribution. After graduating from College in 1973 Aldo became the National Sales Manager for Alflex Corporation. Robert worked in sales for Crouse Hinds Murray Distribution after graduating from San Diego State University. Steve worked with his father at Elkins Sales Agency and Clyde worked in electrical distribution. Steve retired from the agency in 2004. Agents West has a long tradition of being a family company and in 2004 Sean Foster, Clyde ’s son-in-law became a partner. Sean joined the company in 1992 and worked as an outside salesman until his partnership. Sean graduated from college in 1994. Clyde’s daughter, Cherie Childers joined the company in 1991 and returned after college. She is currently our marketing manager. Sons Cameron Collins and Corey Collins also work for Agents West. Cameron originally joined the company in 1998 and left the industry to pursue a management position in distribution; he is currently our sales manager. Corey joined the company in 2003 shortly after graduating from UCI. He is currently an outside salesman. We felt it was important to share this bit of nostalgia because it gives a sense of who we are as a company; a group of individuals committed to each other, the customers that we service and the manufacturers we represent. We look forward to the future with continued enthusiasm!
